Lynn Harper

Strategic Integration Advisor to the International Space Station (ISS) National Laboratory, and NASA’s InSpace Production Application (InSPA) Portfolio

Lynn Harper is Strategic Integration Advisor to the International Space Station (ISS) National Laboratory, the first national laboratory beyond Earth, and NASA’s InSpace Production Application (InSPA) Portfolio, which invests in U.S. innovators to develop superior products from space for worthy applications on Earth.  She is technical monitor for 4 InSPA investigations currently being implemented on the ISS now and was technical monitor for 6 additional SBIR and InSPA payloads that flew on the ISS between 2019 and the present.  From her first space flight project that began in 1978, Harper has been instrumental in the development and implementation of over 100 NASA sponsored payloads that have flown in orbit on multiple vehicles, returned the first pristine samples from a comet, explored the surface chemistry of Mars, and searched for extrasolar planets, as well as several payloads flown on parabolic and suborbital vehicles.  Harper was the initiating founder of the science of Astrobiology and has been instrumental in the development of nine new space initiatives through Congress.  Over the past four decades, Harper has served on most of the national level study groups of human exploration of the Moon and Mars.  In 2005, Harper was one of the founders of NASA’s Space Portal, which focuses on developing commercial space for projects of public benefit, and still serves today as the Space Portal Lead for Integrative Studies.
